What’s your role in the company?

As the CTO and Partner at Codeplay, my role extends beyond the realms of web development, SEO, SEA, and marketing automation. I am also responsible for managing our server infrastructure, utilizing cloud solutions based in Switzerland. This includes moving most of our clients’ websites from regular hosting products to our high-performance environment, ensuring robust and secure hosting, optimizing server performance, and guaranteeing compliance with strict data protection regulations in Switzerland. My commitment is to implement cutting-edge technologies and strategies in all these areas to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of our projects, thereby improving our clients’ digital presence and ensuring their data security.

Why did you start using WP Umbrella? What support challenges were you trying to overcome?

We started using WP Umbrella to manage our WordPress websites centrally with a GDPR-compliant solution based in Europe. The aim was to address challenges in efficiently managing multiple websites and ensuring their compliance with European data protection standards.

Why did you leave ManageWP for WP Umbrella? Has WP Umbrella allowed you to leave other tools (like backup plugin, monitoring solutions, etc).

We switched from ManageWP to WP Umbrella due to its European base and favorable cost-benefit ratio. WP Umbrella’s comprehensive features have allowed us to streamline our toolset, reducing our reliance on other plugins and monitoring solutions.

This could offer predictive analytics for website performance and user engagement, enabling us to proactively optimize our clients’ websites. Additionally, I look forward to advancements in automation for routine tasks, which would further streamline our workflow and enhance our efficiency. The possibility of integrating more advanced security features to protect against emerging cyber threats is also something we eagerly anticipate.

What advice would you give to others considering using WP Umbrella?

When we first integrated WP Umbrella into our workflow, one of the immediate benefits we noticed was in its centralized update feature. This alone saved our team countless hours, allowing us to shift our focus from routine site maintenance to more creative and strategic tasks. My advice for others is to look beyond the basic features of WP Umbrella and explore how its deeper functionalities can streamline your team’s operations.
